Here are some free sprays.

Click on the spray you would like to download and save it somewhere. When download is complete click open folder.

  1. Right-click on the spray you just downloaded and copy it.
  2. now goto your cstrike folder. the directory should look something like this:
    c:\programfiles\steam(or valve)\steamapps\::steam account::\counter-strike\cstrike
    (if you had CS before steam be sure to save this file in the new steam/valve directory not the old folders)
    inside this folder you will find a file called tempdecal.wad, this is what you need to rename your new spray.
  3. paste the copy of the .wad you downloaded. and rename it.
  4. click yes when it asks to overwrite the existing file.

(if it does not ask you to replace the existing file when you save it, then you saved in the wrong folder!)

now you must restart counter strike if it was running to load your new spray.
if you go to the in game options menu it will overwrite your spray with the default hl logo!
also, your spray will not show up in the spray preview window in the options menu..
so dont bother checking there.. just go into a server and hit T on a flat surface to test.

but, you can lock your spray by:

  1. right clicking on the tempdecal.wad file and going to properties
  2. then check the read-only box and save.

dont forget to unlock your spray before trying to change it.
to unlock it just uncheck the box.

(some servers do not support the spray feature.. so its best to test it in a few servers if it does not work
but our server does support sprays so if you test them in our server and it doesnt work then it was
installed incorrectly or you tried to view it in the options menu and didnt lock your spray.)
